While not the most attractively landscaped park, this neighborhood hangout is a perfect nexus of neighborhood cafes and shops, nearby transportation, and a piece of sun in foggy San Francisco that attracts a lively crowd at all times.
Old Montreal preserves the charm of a cobblestoned European city along the Saint Lawrence River. The highly walkable few blocks is full of restaurants and stores but avoids the tourist trap feeling of a Fisherman's Wharf.
San Francisco's revitalized Ferry Building has the advantages of spectacular scenery, unique vendors and impressive historic architecture. During the weekend, it is unbeatable as a location to people watch and nosh happily while perambulating. The constant presence of street performers and toddlers is a great indication of how safe and vibrant the Ferry Building feels.
